The mission of the Southeast Area Statistical Staff is to enhance the quality of ARS research by providing administrators, research leaders, scientists and technicians advice and counsel on:
(1) experimental and sampling designs
(2) procedures for statistical analysis, evaluation and interpretation of results
(3) training in statistical and data analysis
(4) efficient and effective procedures for collecting statistically valid data
(5) utilization of computers for analysis and data storage
(6) review of selected project proposals, reports and manuscripts for use of appropriate and accurate statistical procedures
(7) conduct research in statistical methodology where feasible and practical.
