Project initiated July 2003.

 

Sampled mounds at most recreational areas south of Vicksburg

 

Thelohania infected colony found in mound near Lower Choctaw

Boundary; prevalence of infection to be determined.

 

Two sites located for augmentation; sites are challenging because

under rigorous turf management. Six mounds at each site were

inoculated with IFA brood from known infected colonies 5

August 2003.

 

Mounds were resampled October 2003. Establishment of infection

unknown at this time.

 

May re-inoculate spring 2004 if needed.  Two additional locations

with limited disturbance will be selected for inoculations.
