Why are we doing this study?

 

This study is being supported by a grant from the United States Potato Board and the United States Department of Agriculture.

 

Who is eligible for this study?

 
  • Men and women between 20-65 years of age
  • Overweight or obese (BMI 25-39.0)
  • Nonsmoker
  • Free of major medical conditions and eating disorders
  • May not be pregnant or lactating
  • Willingness to comply with the demands of the experimental protocol
 

What is required of me for this study?

  • Complete a 3 day dietary records
  • Attend 8 weekly dietitian led group weight-loss classes
  • Consume one potato or alternate starch dish daily prepared by the Human Nutrition Research Center kitchen
  • Follow prescribed energy restriction and physical activity regimen
 

Will I get compensated for my time?

 
You may be compensated as much as $200 for participating.
