The group supports the IT infrastructure to serve the Center's research program. Maintains the campus-wide digital network and its links to the Internet and manages security for networked devices. The newly constructed computing center provides a controlled environment for rack-mounted servers and communications equipment which provide shared storage, web servers, backup devices, and databases for management and scientific information. Public areas, accessible to the entire Center staff, provide access to color laser printers, wide format poster printers, and specialized equipment and software for preparation of presentation materials. The group collaborates with the scientific staff on innovative mathematical and computer techniques to support the research program and works with the Agency and department in support of IT initiatives. The molecular modeling facility enables scientists to display, modify, and perform calculations on molecular structures using dedicated workstations.
