Proteomics Grouped Formed for Ames Community

A discussion group at Iowa State University and in the Ames community has been formed for scientists and others interested in the current and future use and understanding of proteomics.

The purpose of the organization is to discuss new information in technologies; new software, instrumentation, procedures and bioinformatics; current scientific literature; and research results. The group also will provide news alerts to the media and others and hold seminars and symposia in the Ames area.

Meetings will be held bimonthly on the fourth Monday. The first organizational meeting was held on July 23, 2002 at the National Animal Disease Center (NADC).  Future meetings will alternate between the NADC, ISU campus, and the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The group was started by Louisa Tabatabai, Research Chemist and ISU professor of biochemistry.
