Dan Glickman

Dan Glickman is a vice president of the Aspen Institute and executive director of The Aspen Institute Congressional Program. It is a bipartisan educational program for members of the United States Congress to take an in-depth look at critical public policy issues. Glickman also serves as a co-chair of the Aspen Institute Food Security Strategy Group, and as a senior fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center where he is co-chair of its Democracy Project.

Prior to joining The Aspen Institute, Glickman served as US Secretary of Agriculture in the Clinton Administration. He also represented the 4th Congressional district of Kansas for 18 years in the U.S. House of Representatives where he was very involved in federal farm policy on the House Agriculture Committee and also served on the House Judiciary Committee and as chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

In addition he is the former chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America, and former director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He received his bachelor's degree in history from the University of Michigan and his law degree from The George Washington University. He is a member of the Kansas and District of Columbia bar associations.
