Mission:
The mission of the USDA-ARS programs at Lincoln, NE, is to improve the productivity, stability of production, sustainability, and profitability of crop and livestock production systems. These improvements are accomplished by developing new germplasm and management practices using basic and applied research with a focus on the environment. The new knowledge, germplasm, and management practices developed by the ARS programs adds millions of dollars to the economy of the Great Plains annually by increasing yields and by reducing plant and livestock losses while promoting environmental sustainability.
