A watercolor titled “Agaricus ferratis (Agaric with Serrated Gills),”created by James Bolton, a noted naturalist who lived in England in the late 18th century. Bolton was the author and illustrator of the first published English-language work devoted to fungi. His manuscript of that work, including his original watercolors, is part of the Special Collections at the National Agricultural Library, in Beltsville, Maryland.
