In drought-tolerance test plots in Logan, Utah, research leader Jack Staub notes the color, vigor, and persistence of exotic fine-leafed fescue plants collected from Kyrgyzstan. Plants with enhanced drought tolerance could be used for low-input agricultural uses, such as rangeland forage.
