The Mycology & Nematology Genetic Diversity & Biology Laboratory provides the knowledge required for identification of agriculturally important fungi and nematodes and development of environmentally safe controls for plant-parasitic nematodes. The laboratory maintains one-million reference specimens in the U.S. National Fungus Collections and USDA Nematode Collection with associated information to enhance plant protection; develops resources for identification and systematics of fungi and nematodes; and discovers methods for suppression of plant-parasitic nematodes.

The Mycology and Nematology Genetic Diversity and Biology Laboratory is located in Beltsville, MD and is part of the Northeast Area.
The Research Leader is Lisa Castlebury.
