Mission:
The mission of the Mosquito and Fly Research Unit is to develop novel technologies for detection, population monitoring, and non-pesticidal control of biting and filth breeding insects in agricultural, urban, and suburban environments and to develop repellents for the protection of humans and animals from biting and filth breeding arthropods. Customers and stakeholders include the U.S. military, federal regulatory/action agencies; local, state, national, international animal/public health agencies and vector abatement organizations; pest control and extension organizations; manufacturers/end-users of insect repellents, insect traps, and non-pesticidal insect control technology.
