Objective:
Acquire for the USDA/ARS managed U.S. National Plant Germplasm System, well documented germplasm of crops native to the Republic of Georgia through plant explorations and exchanges. Make available to the National Plant Germplasm System in Georgia well documented samples of the collected germplasm.

Approach:
1. Jointly develop and execute one or more plant explorations to the Republic of Georgia through plant explorations and exchanges using crop experts from Georgia and when appropriate U.S. Scientists. 2. Share the collected germplasm and documentation with the plant genetic resources program in the Republic of Georgia and deposit the U.S. share of the germplasm and documentation in the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS).
