Research Project: Discovery of New Biological Control Agents Against the Asian Citrus Psyllid Project Number: 0208-32000-001-31
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Aug 10, 2009
End Date: Aug 09, 2010

Objective:
To discover new biological control agents in Asia for the control of the Asian citrus psyllid.

Approach:
The Australian Biological Control Laboratory will work with collaborators in India, China, and elsewhere in the region to examine citrus and other Rutaceae for the presence of Asian citrus psyllids and potential biological control agents. Biological control agents will be preliminarily identified and held in the country of origin until they are ready for further work. Additional work may consist of evaluation for potential or preparation for direct shipment to APHIS quarantine facilities in Puerto Rico or Texas.
