Research Project: Semiochemical-Based Technology for Control of Citrus Pests

Location: Subtropical Insects and Horticulture Research

Project Number: 6034-22320-001-01
Project Type: Nonfunded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Mar 01, 2011
End Date: Feb 29, 2016

Objective:
Optimize pheromone-based mating disruption and control of the citrus leafminer; develop new semiochemical-based methods for Diaprepes root weevil and for the Asian Citrus Psyllid (ACP).

Approach:
ARS has developed new methods for field application of SPLATâ„¢ products and has discovered and/or optimized pheromone blends for insect control. Cooperator will synthesize and formulate semiochemicals and provide experimental formulations for testing by ARS in Florida and elsewhere.
