Objective:
Expedite production and laboratory efficacy testing of a novel anti-tick vaccine formulation as a tool for integrated approaches to keep the U.S. free of cattle fever ticks.

Approach:
In cooperation with the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas Animal Health Commission, funds from a sub-grant to the ARS will be used to accelerate a discovery research project for production and laboratory efficacy testing of Bm86-Texas anti-tick vaccine formulation as a tool for integrated approaches to keep the U.S. free of cattle fever ticks.
