Research Project: Post-Doctor training and research on screening for inhibiting fungal infection and aflatoxin production in peanut and other crop

Objective:
Host and train post-doctors who have their own funding to perform cooperative research on screening for peanut or other crop varieties or germplasm lines for inhibiting fungal growth, infection, and mycotoxin production, especially aflatoxins, to achieve the objectives of food and feed safety.

Approach:
The Post-doctor Training Center will recommend their top candidates for selection by USDA-ARS to work at either ARS facility or Cooperator facility within the scope of USDA-ARS research project plan. Screening, testing, and biological analysis can be performed at locations of either party. Molecular genetics and genomics studies will mostly be performed at USDA-ARS facility.
