Research Project: Optimizing the Dispersal of Isaria Fumosorosea, a Biocontrol Agent for the Asian Citrus Psyllid Project Number: 6090-21000-055-03
Project Type: Specific Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 01, 2013
End Date: Dec 18, 2014

Objective:
To combine Asian citrus psyllid attractant or attractants with a system to deliver the entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea, a biological control agent against the psyllid that transmits citrus greening disease.

Approach:
Fort Pierce scientists will identify the most effective attractants for the Asian citrus psyllid. The University of Florida scientists and TARS scientist will assay methods to deliver the fungus to the psyllid in the field. The attractant(s) will be combined with the delivery method and the rate of infection in the psyllid populations will be recorded.
