Research Project: Genomic Regions and Genetic Constellations Associated with Agronomic Traits, Fruit Quality, and Disease Resistance in the American Cranberry

Location: Vegetable Crops Research Unit

Project Number: 5090-21220-003-04
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Sep 01, 2013
End Date: Aug 31, 2017

Objective:
Development of a cranberry integrated, high-resolution genetic map with QTL for economically important traits

Approach:
Available next generation sequencing data will be used to develop a linkage map with 500 SSR and 1000 SNP markers and QTLs for economically important traits. Association mapping and genomic selection will be conducted using available diverse germplasm. Information will also be integrated into breeding programs as it becomes available.
