Objective:
Utilize novel yield genes from cultivated and wild Japanese soybean.

Approach:
Breeding lines developed from crosses between Glycine max and Glycine soja will be evaluated for yield in replicated field trials in Bossier City, Louisiana. The trials will be grown under irrigation on sandy silt loam and clay soil types. Plots will consist of 4 rows. The center two rows of each plot will be harvested. In addition to yield, disease ratings will be recorded for each plot. Results will be compared to similar trials conducted in Georgia and North Carolina.
