Objective:
Develop a robotic imaging system for creating three-dimensional models of fruit trees.

Approach:
1) Investigate and implement strategies for robot control within the context of a robotic imaging system, including robot path planning. 2) Investigate alternative sensors (for example, lasers) and approaches to creating three-dimensional models of fruit trees or increasing the accuracy of the existing image-based system. 3) Extract relevant features (identify branches, branch angles, and diameters, among other metrics developed for the project from a mesh representing a tree) from three-dimensional models created with the existing system, and determine the accuracy of the extracted features.
