Technical Abstract: The chapter presents a review of insect dissemination of microbial agents. This concept, also known as autodissemination, is based in the establishment of a focus of pathogen infection in combination with the use of pheromones or other lures. Four case studies involving the dissemination of entompathogenic fungi, viruses, and plant disease antagonists are discussed.
