Interpretive Summary: Omega-3 fatty acids are a useful dietary intervention to decrease the risk and severity of chronic inflammatory disease. This type of intervention runs the risk of decreasing defenses against intervention. Current reserach suggests that this risk is minimal, particularly for levels of omega-3 fatty acids contained in food, but also for most supplements in use today.
