Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The Little Washita River Experimental Watershed (LWREW), located in south central Oklahoma, is the largest and best instrumented of the Agricultural Research Service's research watersheds. The types of instrumentation deployed on the LWREW, its long history of research activities, historical databases, and proximity to other nearby experimental areas have made this watershed a focal point of large-scale hydrologic research activities. In this poster, the location and physical characteristics of the LWREW are described, as well as the research instrumentation deployed on the meteorological (Micronet) and automated Soil Heat and Water Measurement Systems (SHAWMS) networks. Acquisition, quality control, and archive of the data is discussed, and graphical examples of data are presented.
