Technical Abstract: The P. syringae pv. syringae oprM gene encodes a putative outer membrane efflux protein that is highly similar to known multi-drug resistance proteins. In P. syringae pv. syringae, the oprM gene is located within the syringomycin/syringopeptin biosynthetic cluster near the salA gene which is required for lesion formation and the production of both syringomycin and syringopeptin.
