Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The report of the bovine chromosome 25 workshop is presented. Five laboratories contributed 9,668 informative meioses from 30 loci. Twelve loci typed by at least two laboratories were used to construct a consensus linkage map. The sex-averaged consensus map covered 69.9 cM. The female map was 63.8 cM and the male map was 71.8 cM. All 30 loci were subsequently yused to construct a comprehensive map. The sex-averaged comprehensive map was 73.3 cM, while the female and male maps were 64.0 cM and 75.4 cM, respectively. Average distance between loci in the comprehensive map was 2.44 cM.
