Interpretive Summary: This is a Germplasm Release. No Interpretive Summary required.

Technical Abstract: End sequencing of bacterial artificial chromosomes (BAC) clones provides sequence information for: 1) improving assembly of the existing bovine BAC map, 2) single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) discovery, and 3) assembly of the bovine genome draft sequence. As part of a specific cooperative agreement with the Univ. of Oklahoma, five 384-well plates of BAC clones from the RPCI-42 library were processed for end sequence. A total of 1,377 BAC end sequences (BES) were generated and deposited in GenBank. The BES information serves as a resource for finding and developing SNP markers for Holstein cattle. GenBank Accession Number: CL526294-7670
