Interpretive Summary: We review quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis and how it identifies alleles not found by Mendelian genetics.

Technical Abstract: In Arabidopsis, QTL hve been identified that regulate flowering time and root morphology. In maize, QTL have been identified that regulate overall plant form. Some of these allels were selected during the domestication of maize.
