Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Counts of western flower thrips in garden impatiens (Impatiens wallerana) and cucumber flowers were fit to incidence-mean models to determine whether a generic model could be used for binomial count sampling. The crop did not significantly alter the parameters for incidence-mean models, and performance of sampling plans based on models for each crop and a composite model was nearly identical. These results suggest that a generic incidence-mean model can be used when sampling thrips in flowers of greenhouse crops.
