Technical Abstract:
Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) provides a non-toxic and environmentally acceptable alternative to conventional solvents for polymerization reactions. Moreover, there are no residual solvent remains in the polymer product. In the present study, we investigate the polymerization of soybean oil the scCO2 medium. Cationic initiator is used to initiate the polymerization. Effects of reaction temperature, CO2 pressure and initiator concentration on molecular weight are reported.
