Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: MaizeGDB (http://www.maizegdb.org) is the community database for maize genetics and genomics. The success of the MaizeGDB project largely can be attributed to the involvement of the community of maize geneticists. Members of the community have (1) made their data available by contributing to MaizeGDB, and (2) helped to guide the efforts of the MaizeGDB team by giving lots of needed input. In an effort to make it possible for researchers to contribute their data directly via the web, we have developed and tested community curation tools that are now available for general use. This poster and the associated computer demonstration aim to serve as a resource to gain familiarity with new tools as well as venues to gather feedback for the tools' continued development.
