Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: This book chapter provides extensive descriptions of the three species assigned to the ascosporic yeast genus Kregervanrija. The genus is closely related to the genera Pichia and Saturnispora. All three species are associated with food and beverage spoilage, but are not considered to be major spoilage species. Most isolates of each species are from the U.S. and Europe, but the species are probably worldwide in distribution.
