Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: This chapter provides indepth morphological, physiological and molecular evolutionary descriptions of the six species assigned to the yeast genus Barnettozyma. The species are often associated with tree wounds, especially thoses caused by insects. One of the species, B. californica, is isolated worldwide.
