Technical Abstract: Dr. Sandra Knapp, Curator at Natural History Museum in London, is the 2009 recipient of the Peter Raven Award. This award is provided each year by the American Society of Plant Taxonomists to a plant systematist who has made exceptional efforts at outreach to nonscientists. This publication summarizes Dr. Knapp’s achievements in outreach and scholarship that have garnered her award, and testimonials from world leaders in systematic botany and science communication who have provided her letters of support for her award.
