Interpretive Summary: Longhorned beetles are very important to agriculture and the economy because they damage a variety of plants during their development. Pests such as the Asian longhorn beetle continue to cost millions of dollars by injuring and killing maple trees. This paper provides a review for a poorly known group that includes 15 species from the island of Hispaniola. Although nothing is known of their hostplants, close relatives in Asia and Australia are pests of cocoa. Seven species new to science are described, fully illustrated, and accompanied by an identification key and distribution maps. This study will be important to port identifiers, regulatory personel associated with APHIS-PPQ, and arborists whose trees may be attacked by this genus and its relatives.

Technical Abstract: The Tribe Hemilophini (Lamiinae) is reviewed for Hispaniola and an identification key is provided. Fifteen species are now known from the island, including one new species of Adesmus (A. fortunei from La Vega Province, Dominican Republic), one new species of Oedudes (O. anulatus from Peravia and La Vega Provinces, Dominican Republic), and five new species of Calocosmus (C. contortus from San Cristóbal Province, C. punctatus from Peravia Province, C. rawlinsi from Elías Piña Province, C. robustus from La Vega Province, and C. thonalmus from La Altagracia Province, all in the Dominican Republic). Oedudes and Adesmus are new island and country records for Hispaniola and Dominican Republic, respectively. Calocosmus holosericeus Gahan is a new synonym of Calocosmus janus Bates. In addition to the new species, five new country records and four new island records are presented for Calocosmus.
