Dairy manure biochar as a phosphorus fertilizer [ABSTRACT]. University of Wisconsin Extension, The 2013 Midwest Manure Summit. http://wwww.midwestmanure.com. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Dairy manure biochars, along with other manure biochars, contain sufficient concentrations of plant available nutrients, particularly phosphorous. For greenhouse studies using ryegrass, cotton, and soybean, manure biochars performed similar to commercial phosphorous fertilizers when applied at appropriate agronomic rates. Because of the high phosphorous content, manure biochars need to be managed as fertilizers rather than as a carbon-building amendment. |
