Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: This article summarizes a project that is being funded in part by the California Citrus Research Board. In a previous field trial, 87 genotypes of citrus were planted in the field in Florida and the different genotypes were evaluated for tolerance to Asian citrus psyllid, citrus leaf miner, and huanglongbing (HLB). Based on the observations, additional genotypes of Poncirus trifoliata and P. trifoliata hybrids, sour orange types, and kumquats were selected and are being planted in the field trial located at the U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory, Ft. Pierce, FL. Half of the replicates will be graft challenged with HLB positive plant material prior to planting in the field to determine if apparent tolerance is due to psyllid feeding behavior or other factors genetically inherent in the plant.
