Citation: Derunkov, A., Tishechkin, A.K., Rocha Prado, L., Konstantinov, A.S. 2015. New species of Diabrotica Chevrolat (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae) and a key to Diabrotica and related genera: Results of a synopsis of North and Central American Diabrotica species. ZooKeys. 3(2):1-55.

Interpretive Summary: Leaf beetles are among the most important insects affecting U.S. agriculture. Many are serious pests and feed on crops destroying valuable plants costing millions of dollars annually. Others are important biological control agents that can be used to destroy unwanted and invasive weeds. This work provides descriptions and illustrations for 18 previously unknown to science species of leaf beetles in Central America, to allow for its identification and proper classification. This study will be useful to taxonomists, evolutionary biologists, and anyone interested in plant-feeding beetles.
