Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: A high-performance liquid chromatography was used to analyze the phenylpropanoids in the methanol-DMSO extracts of dried leaves from the genus Prunus. The phenylpropanoid patterns in the leaves of young seedlings determined for apricots and plums were used to evaluate plum-apricot hybrids as a part of new variety breeding program. Using this screening technique, hybrids can be quickly screened for both apricot and plum phenylpropanoids in seedlings as an initial verification of the progeny generated in the hybridization program.
