Technical Abstract: The response of the atmosphere to variation of soil moisture has been mostly investigated with regional and large-scale numerical models (Entekhabi, et al., 1996). The Southern Great Plains Experiment (SGP) provides an unprecedented variety of quality data for examination of the response of quality data for examination of the response of the atmospheric Boundary layer to variations of soil moisture and vegetation (SGP97, 1997).
