Technical Abstract: The honey bee parasitic mite Varroa destructor Anderson and Truemann is one of the most devastating pests affecting honey bees worldwide. While synthetic acaricides have been the predominant means of controlling this mite in many regions of the world, there are several techniques that can effectively limit mite development. These techniques are outlined in this overview.
