Technical Abstract: The mission of the Oregon Flora Project is to serve as a comprehensive resource for the vascular plants of Oregon that grow without cultivation, and to foster effective use of this knowledge by all citizens. This contribution presents a floristic account of the two species of wild carrots occurring in Oregon, Daucus carota and Daucus pusillus. It includes information on their scientific and common names, taxonomic descriptions, identification keys, distribution maps, illustrations, summaries of habitat and geographic ranges, pertinent synonomy, chromosome numbers, phenology, ethnobotanical uses and toxicity, and other relevant biological information. The results will be of use to a wide range of users, to include taxonomists, biogeographers, ecologists, conservationists, and plant breeders.
