Technical Abstract: The Revised Wind Equation (RWEG), Wind Erosion Prediction System (WEPS), Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE), and the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) simulate soil erosion for a potentially different set of user groups. However the inputs required by each model can largely be reduced to the same things, such as location (climate), topography, soils, and management. Consequently, the four projects have been working cooperatively to produce a single user interface that can be used to run all four models. At the higher levels where the users will spend most of their time, the interface will look the same regardless of the model used. This presentation will cover the philosophies behind this joint development with sample screens illustrating the application of the consensus goals.
