Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The A. E. Brower Collection of Lepidoptera is housed in the Department of Entomology, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. Five holotypes of Nearctic Catocala (Noctuidae) described by Brower were misplaced and recently found. They include the following: Catocala texarkana, Catocala lincolnana, Catocala erichi, Catocala johnsoniana, and Catocala californiensis.
