This page contains 10-s recordings of sounds detected by an accelerometer in nursery containers (1-gallon or larger in size) infested with black vine weevil (BVW) larvae, Otiorhynchus sulcatus, recorded between Nov. 16, 1999 and Nov. 18, 1999, in a laboratory at the ARS Horticultural Crops Research Laboratory, Corvallis OR, and in a greenhouse at Monrovia, Inc., Dayton, OR. The sounds represent a range of different signals typically found in recordings of infestations in pots containing different plants in different environments. |
*These possibly were strawberry root weevil larvae, Otiorhynchus ovatus L., which are difficult to distinguish visually from BVW.
