EUROPE

ASIA

  • FAO and DGLAHS will organize an online capacity building course in Indonesia on ASF prevention & control for eight high risk provinces later this month. The course includes: biosecurity, biosafety, market / value chain management, etc. against ASF introduction.

AFRICA

  • In Nigeria, training on biosecurity along the pig value chain in Nigeria will be provided through a recently approved project ‘Strengthening Global Coordination of Animal Health Emergencies of International Concern’ was approved.
  • FAO project in Togo to "Support for the sustainable management of pig farms and control of ASF outbreaks" was approved, aiming at developing regulatory texts governing ASF control activities, carry out training and implementing urgent actions to revive the sector and secure the incomes of the stakeholders and communities dependent on the sector.
  • In Côte d'Ivoire, under the project “Emergency assistance for the control of ASF in the TChologo and Poro regions”, a socio-economic study on the impact of ASF is being developed and the project closing workshop will be held from 6 to 8 October in Abidjan.

  • The FAO manual for the detection and diagnosis of African swine fever is now available in Spanish.
  • The FAO Manual on African Swine Fever in Wild Boar is now available in Spanish.
  • The FAO practical considerations for Carcass management for small and medium scale livestock farms is now available in Spanish.
