Objective:
Early generation screening of winter wheat breeding lines for FHB resistance in Montana.
Approach:
A nursery consisting of 100 pre-yield trial breeding lines will be sown at Southern Agricultural Research Center at Huntley and inoculated Fusarium graminearum. FHB severity and DON will be assessed, and other agronomic data will recorded. Breeding lines with moderate to high level of resistance will be reevaluated and advanced.
