Technical Abstract: This book presents invited papers given at the Chesapeake Bay Program Conference, along with the views of several Bay farmers, key Bay resource users, and recommendations from the Conference workgroups; Soil Phosphorus (P) Testing for Environmental Risk Assessment, Nutrient Management Planning, and Best Management Planning Development and Implementation. The eobjectives of this book are to evaluate the impact of phosphorus on the Chesapeake Bay, determine the sources and transport of agricultural phosphorus within the Bay watershed, and identify the main processes controlling the transfer of phosphorus from the farm to the Chesapeake Bay scale. Finally, the book discusses what can be done with current technology to minimize agricultural P losses and Bay inputs and prioritize future trends for P management in the Chesapeake Bay and other watersheds.
