Understanding the shared parent-child feeding environment [abstract]. The Children, Youth, and Families at Risk Conference, May 1-4, 2007, Chicago, Illinois. Publication No. 21C. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Before three years of age, children’s eating is driven by hunger. After age three, parental cues influence their eating behaviors. Using a newly designed instrument to identify parental feeding behaviors, participants will practice identifying behaviors in the context of emotional affect. Participants will also gather insight on how the shared parent-child feeding environment may manifest itself differently for different ethnic groups. |
