Interpretive Summary: Southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula, has emerged as the most significant and unpredictable pests of macadamia nut in Hawaii. Studies showed that a significant portion of nut damage occurs in trees rather than on the ground as previously thought. Cryptophlebia spp. are also serious pests. A pheromone lure developed in Australia was tested and shown to be more attractive than the oriental fruit moth pheromone previously in use.
