Slide 7.   Still in the Moree area, this photo shows the holding dam of a ring tank (on right).  Note the waterlogged dead trees on the right, inside the water impoundment area, as reference for scale.  This water impoundment has a capacity of 1200 megaliters.  In the foreground and on the left is a supply channel delivering water from the ring tank to the rest of the farm.  This slide gives an idea of the formidable problems of scale associated with water management in some of the large irrigated farms on the edge of the outback.
